Location can't be beat!
We spent one night at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill during our recent trip to Niagara Falls. Location really is everything and the location here cannot be beat!!!!
Rooms- We stayed in a 3 queen suite. It had one bed in a separate bedroom and 2 beds in the main room. They were very comfortable and amazingly quiet. There was a TV in each room and a small amount of drawer space. No refrigerator or microwave but did have a small coffee pot. There was one bathroom with plenty of towels. There were no shampoos or conditioner given. Rooms were not huge but we did not feel cramped. Having 3 beds was fantastic! Parking costs about 15 dollars a day. Check in is at 2pm which is wonderful. We arrived about an hour early and they let us park in their lot right away. Parking is covered until 2pm on your check out day. Wifi was available and free but fairly unreliable. It worked in the afternoon when we arrived but not late at night.
Hotel- This is a good sized 2 story hotel. Is definitely older. Carpet was worn, especially in the hallways but rooms were very clean. They have a lovely tropical themed courtyard with a decent sized pool and a huge hot tub we enjoyed a lot. Pool towels are available and plentiful. They actually had a lifeguard on duty when we were there which was nice. There is a lot of seating and tables present here too.
Breakfast - this hotel has a nice, free breakfast each morning from 7-10. Its in a large room but due to the size of the hotel, extremely busy. We were able to find a table but many took their food with them. They had quite a few high chairs and booster seats too. The buffet offered eggs, sausage, waffle machines, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, English muffins and breads, muffins, donut holes, 2 kinds of cereal as well as juices and coffee. Food was tasty and a great bargain for a family. It was kept well stocked despite the large numbers of patrons. I'd recommend coming on the early side if you are able.
Location - amazing! !! This hotel could not be more in the center of the action! We didn't need our car at all. Right outside the window is the famous clifton hill and it's mini golf, skywheel, various museums and touristy attractions not to mention tons of eateries all within a minute or two walk. Despite being right in the center it was really quiet in the hotel. The kids adored this place and seeing all the lights at night was amazing. From the hotel it is about a 10 min walk down to the beautiful waterfront area and the most gorgeous view of the falls ever! We were blown away! Be sure to come back at night to catch the illuminated falls...incredible! There is so much to do right here we could have easily spent more days!
Even though this hotel is older, less fancy and doesn't have a view of the falls like the sheraton, it is a great option for a family at a moderate price in a location that truly can't be beat. We would stay again without hesitation!
