For several years now, I have posted on Tuesdays Groupon Getaways that can accommodate big families. I’ll comb through the 500-600 deals for the week and showcase the 20-40 deals that will sleep your families.
That ended about a month ago.
I was told by the affiliate manager that I was violating their search policy. He said that my search ads were showing for the term “Groupon Hotels”.
I explained that I wasn’t bidding on the brand and asked for screenshots.
The affiliate manager sent a link that lead to an error page.
Again I asked for screenshots and informed him that I would add negative keywords to my campaigns to reduce the possibility of my ads showing on their term search results.
When I checked Groupon’s affiliate platform, Rakuten, to get links; I was unable to. I had been kicked out of the program.
It seems that affiliate managers don’t care about small businesses. Perhaps they have too many clients they have to monitor. Any small infraction will get you kicked out.
Or not paid. Don’t get me started on Hilton who drags commission payment out for months. And has treated affiliates this way for years.
So I apologize for not bringing you the latest big family friendly Groupon Getaway deals. I hope to have the issue resolved soon.
