We caught up, walked through her town, and stopped for dinner at the yummiest place I&#8217;ve eaten at for quite a while! And watched the kids playing together in the fountain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13293 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"451\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany1.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany1-300x257.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany1-768x657.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany1-1024x876.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 451px) 100vw, 451px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">More observations:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Our van was equipped with all of the latest safety advances and showed them to us as needed in German! It was hilarious though as if Scott got too close to a car in front it automatically slowed him down. The best one though was if Scott crossed the center line too many times for whatever reason (here it was because the roads are very narrow and were driving a tank!) a light flashed and chimes rang telling him he needed to stop, get a coffee and refocus!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Every last town looks and reminds me of Disneyland (I might have already written that but seriously every single town!)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The entire village my sister lives in has quiet time from 1-3 every day and after 10 every night \u2013 could you imagine?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Day 32- Trip Wind Down with Family<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13296 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"457\" height=\"609\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 457px) 100vw, 457px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">We spent the day enjoying my sister and her family, playing at the dinosaur park that is my nephews favorite!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13294 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germandinosaurpark.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"547\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germandinosaurpark.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germandinosaurpark-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germandinosaurpark-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Our youngest son bought a Bugatti (the boys have loved seeing all the supercars this trip!!) so why not buy one?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13295 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/supercar.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"461\" height=\"615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/supercar.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/supercar-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/supercar-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">We ate and played in the fountains again.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13297 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"441\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany3.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany3-189x300.jpg 189w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany3-768x1219.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/germany3-645x1024.jpg 645w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Toured the town and dyed our hair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">We took &#8220;European&#8221; and ran with it. Both girls went to the store with me a month ago when we first got here. They found purple hair dye. I couldn&#8217;t let them do it before we left for our travels (I know it&#8217;s just hair&#8230; but still). So they pleaded with me all month and my sister told them she could do it. So on the last day of the trip, we did it!!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Day 33 &#8211; Heading Home<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">We flew back home again on Icelandair so we had a brief layover this time in Iceland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The kids were planning for us to go to all of our favorite restaurants and the grocery store as soon as we got home. I wanted something to drink with LOTS of ice in it!!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13298 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/planegreenland.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"518\" height=\"691\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/planegreenland.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/planegreenland-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/planegreenland-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 518px) 100vw, 518px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Greenland is gorgeous!!! I tried to be super diligent about carry-ons as we checked 8 bags on the way home so much could go in there. However, not only did I forget a bottle of children&#8217;s liquid Tylenol at the bottom of my carry on but apparently bringing a 10-pound bag of rocks on board is not super smart!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13300 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/heartrocks.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"659\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/heartrocks.jpg 1430w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/heartrocks-234x300.jpg 234w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/heartrocks-768x985.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/heartrocks-798x1024.jpg 798w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">So I was searched AND they took my entire carry-on bag and emptied it (not me \/ security) to find the liquid and the bag of rocks. Then they questioned me on both &#8211; and I had to try to explain heart rocks as souvenirs to a German airport security agent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">They must have felt sorry for me with my gaggle of kids watching as they let me through and let me keep them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">My last vacation thoughts after visiting 9 countries in 32 days:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">We were discussing our trip and the differences living here vs there. Ok, I know we didn&#8217;t live there but for a month we stayed in real apartments (not hotels) and we grocery shopped and &#8220;lived&#8221; so I\u2019m going with it.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Most people were bilingual (at the very least)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Villages\/towns had quiet times \u2013 could you imagine that in the US?\u00a0 Especially the middle of the day quiet times??<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Aside from one home rental,\u00a0 there was no A\/C or even HVAC<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The toilets (everywhere) were green &#8211; one button to flush for one reason and another button to push for the other<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Many vehicles ran on diesel (3 choices at all stations plus the 3 gas choices)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5 waste options (glass, plastic, paper, compost and actual garbage)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Homes had solar panels (for the water tank at the least)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Many businesses including grocery stores to our chagrin were only open limited hours and not at all on Sundays<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In Germany (at least, maybe more) people are not allowed to use pesticides on their lawn or wash their cars in their driveway (suds and chemicals not allowed into the water supply)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Every home had exterior roll down shades &#8211; fully room darkening and green<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Limited prepared foods in many of the grocers &#8211; limited preservatives<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Many homes and businesses were beautiful &#8211; with flowers in the windows and gardens in the yard<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Every single town reminded me of Disney &#8211; so pretty and colorful<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">So many churches\/buildings that were hundreds of years old!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">No free refills at dinner<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The restaurants were never in a hurry to get rid of people &#8211; dinner was a process lasting hours-<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Many of these were mentioned throughout our month &#8211; but as we are back and reflecting, I was wondering why most of these things aren\u2019t done here? Why aren\u2019t we greener? Why do we eat like we do? Why do we have such a fast-paced lifestyle?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13014 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/big-family-europe-expedition-map.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/big-family-europe-expedition-map.jpg 1633w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/big-family-europe-expedition-map-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/big-family-europe-expedition-map-768x451.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sixsuitcasetravel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/big-family-europe-expedition-map-1024x602.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">And this was Europe!!
