We make one big road trip with our family per year from Texas to North Carolina, and this by FAR is our favorite hotel. We love the two bed, two bathroom suite located in the back building of the hotel complex and always look forward to stopping there - coming and going.

Perks - great free hot breakfast every morning in the Hotel restaurant
- Indoor pool and outdoor pool area. The indoor part only goes to 4 feet so its great for the younger kids. You can swim comfortably in March or November!
- Great staff that are quick to help out.
- Great price! You will pay a lot less for this hotel vs a Homewood or Staybridge Suites

Concerns for fellow travelers -
No elevator...they do have the big family suites on the ground floor but you better be ready to lug your six suitcases, 5 stuffed animals and 4 special blankets up the carpeted stairs, Dad! We don't mind but did not want other families surprised to not have an elevator.
Older buildings - this hotel has been around a while. The bedrooms are updated but the bathrooms and kitchens look very 80's style. However, we aren't too concerned about the older style hair dryers or dishwashers, they work just fine!

We have recommended this hotel to friends and traveling Sports teams and they ALL love the Clarion in Covington, LA. If you are headed through that area, make sure to try it out.
