Family Hotels for 5, 6, 7, 8

Search by State interactive map

Search by US map

Tired of searching the big travel sites for your family of 5, 6, 7, 8 and getting results that say you've exceeded the max number of occupants or rooms not available on your dates?

Have trouble finding hotel accommodations for your family of 5, 6, 7 or 8? Not anymore!

We did the research for you!

We've researched over 3000 cities, in the US, Canada and Mexico and found over 3000 hotels that can accommodate families 5 and 6, sometimes 8.

We have only listed hotels whose websites said they accommodated at least six. Some big hotel rooms sleep up to eight. For rooms for 7 or 8 look for "Room for 8"

Now you can easily find information on each hotel that is important to families. Bedding type is listed for each hotel. Breakfast type is listed: FCB-free contential breakfast, FBB-free breakfast buffet, and FHB-free hot breakfast. Pool type is given: IP-indoor pool, OP-outdoor pool. Availability of fridge, microwave or kitchen is listed. Availability of airport shuttle is listed too.

Book with confidence. We list direct links to the hotel's website. You book directly with the hotel, not us. We're just here to help you find the right hotel for your family.

Sometimes the reservation search for a hotel will tell you that the hotel doesn't have rooms or suites for 6. What it really means is that the hotel's rooms for 6 are booked on your dates. Try searching again with different dates. Please remember that a hotel may only have a few rooms that can accommodate large families. Book early!

Thank you all for the kind emails.  Here are some of my favorites:

I have been searching for a resource like yours for more than 5 years. Many, many thanks for aggregating all that super valuable info. Our August road trip to NC/SC/VA is now trivially simple to plan, and orchestrate, and all because of your site. I have passed the link on to half a dozen additional big families who will doubtless find it wonderful as well. Again, thanks, and good luck with the site.

-T. Hembrough, Ph.D.

After finishing a grueling task of completing my family vacation hotel reservations, I panned through my email, and found an article about your web site on Frommer's.com Newsletter (sent 7/12/10).  After reading the story, I immediately logged into your site, canvassed the many pages you had to offer.  I liked it so much, I made it a favorite on my laptop and registered for your newsletters.
I always knew at one time or another, that our family accommodations would have to include the purchase of a suite.  But as our kids grow bigger and the size of our family continues to increase, now seven; finding places to stay, even with being point members to certain hotel chains, is becoming a hassle.  I was always concerned when my wife would book a room and try to hide the amount of kids going through the lobby, while I waited outside the side door to bring in the other(s).  I am sure they could tell at some point, especially when we came down for breakfast and/or to use the pool.
Praise to you for developing this site.  It will be a blessing to those families that do not want to fit the standard mold of 2.7 kids average, and be able to travel with confidence knowing there will be a place for us.
Thank you again for your site, and hope to lend some information back to you after our vacation experience.

We were mentioned in the Washington Post!  -Christopher Elliott, travel guru and travel consumer advocate, mentioned us in his latest article  Outwitting hotels maximum occupancy rules. The article was alo posted online at the Houston Chronicle. Seattle Times and Orlando Senteniel.

Pack suitcases by night stay not owner

Have several stops your family is going to make on your vacation? Don’t pack suitcases by owner, pack by night stay.

For example, on this trip to see family our first stop is the in-laws for 2 days.  So I packed one suitcase of all our clothes for this stop. Next stop will be my parents. So I packed another suitcase with all our clothes for that visit.

This way you don’t have to drag in all your suitcases every stop.  Just bring in one suitcase of clothes and one of toiletries.

Always Pack Baby Wipes

Use anti-bacterial baby wipes for multiple applications:

  • Baby wipes are great for sticky hands and faces.
  • Use to help wipe up and clean up spills.
  • Spot treating stains.
  • Give car seats a quick once over at pit stops.
  • Wipe down the interior of rental cars.
  • Clean the phone in your hotel room.
  • Remove makeup.
  • Clean up strollers.

What other ways do you use baby wipes when traveling?

Pack Large Suction Cup Hooks

Big families mean many swimsuits that need to dry after a dip in the pool.  Pack suction cup hooks to hang up swimsuits in your hotel room’s shower.  No more puddles of water on the bathroom floor from hanging wet suits over the shower curtain rod!
