We chose this business-oriented hotel in the close suburbs because it was much more affordable for the six of us than the suites hotels downtown, and because it had a free shuttle with a 5-mile radius. The room with 2 double beds and sleeper sofa was quite comfortable, the pool was spacious and uncrowded, and my teenagers loved the hotel-wide WiFi coverage. The widescreen TV went on the fritz and had to be replaced, and the maintenance staff indicated this was a regular occurance. The free continental breakfast was decent, although you have to pay extra for eggs, potatoes, and meat. The shuttle drivers were very good, and got us to our Metra trains on time to get into downtown to see the sights. The main drawback is there is no guest laundry on site, so you either need to pack ALL your clothes (we generally prefer to do laundry halfway through to avoid lugging so many bags) or get a shuttle to the nearest laundromat. Also, we had planned to cook some of our meals in the microwave in the guest kitchen, but there is no grocery store nearby, meaning you have to eat out every night (there are lots of restaurants nearby), pay for the hotel's 24/7 food options...or get that shuttle ride again. Either way, it adds to the family budget. Next time we visit Chicago, I will look for a hotel that is more family-oriented and less business-oriented.
