Hotel Details

The Grandeur of the Seas will draw you in with live entertainment and beautiful decor, calling you back again and again. The Grandeur is a 2,000 passenger, 11 deck cruise liner which sails around the Southern Caribbean. This rigid schedule can be a blessing for families as no matter what time of year your vacation is, the details will stay the same.

Parents need not worry about entertaining kids on this cruise, the Grandeur has you covered. Swimmers can take a dip in one of the two pools or FOUR whirlpools. At night, the main pool also hosts a dive-in family movie night. Older guests looking for some kids-free pool time will find solace in the Solarium, an adults-only pool, and sun deck. As with most family cruises, the kids and youth programs are available for extra fun sea days. The Grandeur's Adventure Ocean splits young passengers into three groups based on age (3-5, 6-8, and 9-11) for educational and fun activities lead by the ship's youth staff. Events include dance classes, science experiments, themed parties, and a kids' talent show. Typically harder to please teen passengers have their own space where they can socialize and generally 'chill out'. Note that Royal Caribbean cruise kids' programs have recently become 'autism friendly' offering games, activities, and movies specifically for autistic passengers.

Family activities have no limit aboard the Grandeur. Passengers over the age of 6 can take advantage of the rock climbing wall, all free of charge. Theater fans will enjoy Broadway-esque productions, music performances, and comedians. On the day-to-day, passengers can enjoy culinary classes, game shows, sports competitions, mini-golf, and much, much more. Families may even leave the ship feeling they didn't get to try everything the Grandeur has to offer!

Group babysitting is not technically available on the Grandeur, although kids programs are available late. The Adventure Zone youth programs become a Late Night Party Zone for $7 per child, per hour. In-cabin babysitting is $19 an hour for up to THREE KIDS per family.

Each ship has a variety of fun activities for the whole family, so be sure to check your ship before you cruise to view what's available. Whether you're 8 or 80, there's no reason not to have fun on your getaway at sea; before breaking off into everyone's activities, enjoy some time together by planning to meet for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This is the time to make memories and nothing could be more memorable than setting up a shore excursion for the whole family. Plan your shore excursions ahead of time for the best chance at booking your top selections.

*Please note it is often cheaper to book two staterooms or two connecting cabins instead of one large stateroom suite - plus it gives you a second bathroom.*
