Arapahoe Basin boasts one of the longest ski seasons in North America (typically from mid-October to early June). A-Basin – as the locals like to call it – also features North America’s highest-elevation terrain park. The sprawling Keystone Resort area encompasses three mountains. Decorum Mountain, the nearest to the resort, has mainly groomed cruisers and beginner runs. Just outside of the town of Durango, in the San Juan Mountains, the Purgatory Ski Resort sports a friendly local atmosphere and old-school attitude. Its gentle and unintimidating slopes make it one of Colorado’s most family-friendly resorts.
